An Australian made film that paints a portrait of Time Magazine’s ‘most innovative farmer in the world’ and showcases the regenerative farming practices that have the power to transform the global food system for the better.
Winner of the Minister for Agriculture award at the Life Sciences Film Festival, Polyfaces features the Salatin’s, a 4th generation farming family, who do ‘everything different to everyone else’ as they produce food in a way that works with nature, not against it.
Joel Salatin was called ‘The world’s most innovative farmer‘ by Time magazine.
The film shows how Joel and his family regenerate their landscapes, communities, local economies, customers health and most importantly their soils.

Multi award winning Producer/Co-Director Lisa Heenan grew up the youngest of 12 children whose family were all keen photographers and filmmakers. Studying media, art, photography and film – her interest grew. Having been an actor for 30 years in Film, TV, Commercials, Corporate/Educational/Inhouse video’s, Lisa chose to learn something every time she was on set.
Lisa drew on her love of people and interview skills to capture special moments with the cast. Lisa is also an accomplished singer/songwriter/guitarist and wrote the song ‘Early in the Morning’ which is featured in the credits of ‘Polyfaces’. Lisa has also written 2 feature scripts that she hopes to one day see produced.
