John Englart has been active in grassroots cycling, environmental and climate activism in Moreland and Victoria since 2004 and is presently Convenor of Climate Action Moreland. He has attended UN climate talks in Paris in 2015, Marrakech in 2016, Bonn in 2017, and Madrid in 2019 as an NGO observer for Climate Action Network Australia. At the annual Moreland Awards in 2019, John received the Environmental Sustainability Achievement award by Moreland Council for his local work on climate action over several years, including advocacy to Council.
In 2019 at COP25 John videoed interviews with Anote Tong, diplomat and former president of Kiribati, and Enele Sopoaga, diplomat and former Prime Minister of Tuvalu.
