Nalika is currently the Unit Manager of the Community Development and Social Policy Unit at Moreland City Council. She has extensive experience working with communities in inner city local governments.
Trained initially as a Primary School Arts teacher, Nalika’s passion for working creatively has been the foundation for working with communities and driving internal organisational change.
Nalika has been responsible for leading work in health and wellbeing, human rights, inclusion and equity, community planning and community engagement in most of her roles over the last 15 years.
She is an advocate for participatory decision making and unlearning some of the ways we are hardwired to be and the need to constantly question our own power a privilege.
She is committed to working in multidisciplinary teams across sectors to achieve the best outcomes for all and to bring about cultural and systemic change.
