Speaking @ Amplify Her
Poet, Entrepreneur, Facilitator and Creatress of The Re-quest Rewilding Journeys. With over ten years as an Artist working in communities, her work is a soulful blend of dance, rap, ritual, spoken word poetry and song.
As a singing, rapping Poet grounded in embodiment and dance, her performance arts practice invokes the re-wilded feminine in a continuous exploration of nature’s cycles and identity politics.
Extending beyond the stage as a fierce feminine leader Michelle founded Montreal’s Throw Poetry Collective (2005) and Melbourne’s PSI certified poetry slam, Slamalamadingdong (2011).
Michelle now delivers a host of self-awareness/communication/re-wilding journeys through a social change methodology known as The Re-Quest at live events and online at michelledabrowski.com.
Serving soul rebels, visionaries and trailblazers Michelle is on a mission to resource people with rites of passage experiences that build self-reliance and support the healthy and playful traverse into the shadow. Enabling creators to carve their unique path and show up in this life, with the highest, most potent version of their offerings.
A multi-passionate troubadour, Michelle has hosted the Australian Poetry Slam (2015, 2016, 2017), has produced programming for festivals such as Seven Sisters and works as a community development practitioner, supporting young Artists with disabilities at the not-for-profit arts org, Wild at Heart.
Michelle has produced live events for public television network SBS and brings the bounty of rhythmic moans and groans to mainstream audiences everywhere.
You can hear her work on the Performance Poetry Indiefeed Podcast, on Bandcamp (search Soles of Australia Tour) and in the release of her second collection of poetry and first EP release of hip hop/soul music in October 2018.
