Speaking @ Bikes Vs Cars
Peter Lumb is President of the Australian Walking and Cycling Conference (AWCC) and a former President of the Bicycle Institute of South Australia. In 2015 he convened a Planning Masterclass for Australian and Asian planners in Copenhagen in partnership with the Cycling Embassy of Denmark. As a lecturer at the University of South Australia he taught Australian social policy and Australian politics. He has contributed to a number of government health, road safety and cycling planning policy processes over many years. He has long term interests in cities, mobility and gender.
Peter has been a commuting cyclist in Adelaide since 1975. He enjoys living in the city of Adelaide without a car. He continues to be disappointed with the lack of quality infrastructure for walking and cycling in Adelaide and other Australian cities and with the lack of discussion about benefit cost analyses for different mobility options in Australian cities.
